Abstract:
Papers of Beverly Butler, a Wisconsin writer specializing in young adult fiction often based on historical themes. Blind since age 14, Butler graduated cum laude from Mount Mary College in Milwaukee (1954) where she studied creative writing, and she received a master of arts degree from Marquette University in 1961. In addition to writing, she has taught creative writing at Mount Mary College and at the Rhinelander School of the Arts. The collection includes professional correspondence and manuscripts of her books published between 1955 and 1982, including Captive Desire which was published under the pseudonym Kathleen Victor.
