Papers of a labor analyst, mediator, editor, and writer. The bulk of the collection deals with Pitzele's career as labor advisor and speechwriter for Thomas E. Dewey, Dwight D. Eisenhower, and James P. Mitchell and his work as a member of the New York Board of Mediation, the ACLU, and other organizations. This material includes correspondence relating to his work for Business Week which touches on labor news, articles, editorial policy, and personnel matters. There are also drafts of book reviews and final copies of articles for Business Week, The New Leader, The Saturday Evening Post, and The Reporter. Hagerty, Christian Herter, Clark Kerr, and Henry Cabot Lodge Jr.
