Subseries: SERIES 12: Negotiations File, 1931-1956, 1958, and n.d.5 boxes This is a subject file containing correspondence, bulletins, memoranda, briefs, decisions, statistical data, and studies of wages and earnings in the hosiery industry. Correspondence includes letters of individual employers, of the National Association of Manufacturers, the Labor Mediation Board, the Impartial Chairman, the Wage Tribunal, union organizers, and local branches of the union, written to the international office, or to one another, concerning negotiations for labor contracts. Topics include notices of contract terminations, wage reopening, also settlement of specific problems relating to wages, working conditions, pensions and insurance. Wages and earnings studies, in box five, were compiled by the Impartial Chairman, the National Association of Manufacturers, the National Recovery Administration, and by the union in cooperation with the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Finance and Commerce. : Roughly chronological and by topic.
