Abstract:
Papers of the Joseph Greer, owner of Greer's Western Rodeo and Society Circus, who performed with his wife Edna and son Harry, as a trick rider and horse trainer for many circuses, and who trained and sold animals to Gene Autry among others. He and his son also served as Grant County, Wisconsin sheriffs from 1929 to 1942. Included is correspondence between Mr. and Mrs. Greer and from Harry Greer to his parents, other letters from friends and business associates, and clippings, contracts, financial records, route books, and programs from their circus careers. Also included are sheriff's office accounts receivable ledgers (1929-1942) and clippings and reports.
