Papers and photographs from the Estate of Grace Hayman Fowle, the niece of Frederick Layton, founder of the Layton Art Gallery. The papers consist of the travel diaries of Grace Hayman Fowle while traveling abroad with her uncle as well as her correspondence while abroad to her future husband, Dr. Frederick Fowle. Additional papers include Frederick and Elizabeth Layton's marriage certificate and an invitation to the wedding of Grace Hayman and Dr. Frederick Fowle. The photographs consist of many images of Frederick Layton as a young man to his later years. Also included are images of his wife, Elizabeth, his niece Grace, and other extended family members as well as a few friends and associates such as Charles Ilsley and Edwin Eldridge, first curator of the Layton Art Gallery.
