Abstract:
Papers and photographs documenting the Brumder family of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and George Brumder Sr.'s founding of the Germania Publishing Company (later North American Press). The papers consist of correspondence between family and friends, Brumder business records, the Pine Lake property (Waukesha County, Wisconsin), and articles and research surrounding Milwaukee German ancestry. Scrapbooks, photographs, and negatives capture family celebrations and outings including George F. and Thekla Brumder's Panama Canal trip. Also included are research and family histories of Milwaukee surnames with German ancestry conducted and compiled by E.J. Brumder Jr.
