Abstract:
Records of the Milwaukee United Fund representative (formerly named United Community Services of Greater Milwaukee), which coordinates the social and welfare activities of various city agencies and thereby acts as a catalyst for social change. The collection consists of the inactive files of the organization, and includes correspondence, minutes, committee files, financial records, speeches, studies and reference material, and clippings. Among the health, welfare, and recreation agencies encouraged by UCS were the Legal Aid Society and the Milwaukee Urban League. The tapes record meetings held in 1949 by the Survey of Health and Welfare Services in Milwaukee County.
