Papers of Steffes, a lawyer who served as a Milwaukee County district attorney and municipal judge. Judicial subject files (1957-1974) emphasize court reorganization and other legislative measures affecting judges. Also present are materials on Steffes' political campaigns (1936-1955), some of his public appearances and speeches, and his public activities.
