Abstract:
Papers of Charles Bridgman, a Wautoma, Wisconsin historian and genealogist, dealing with early families and events of the region. The microfilm portion of the collection contains Civil War letters, 1862-1865, of Lieutenant (later Captain) J. N. P. Bird, Company I, 7th Wisconsin Volunteers, and of his family and friends; letters, 1943-1961, by or to Bridgman concerning historical and genealogical queries; genealogical and biographical notes on Waushara County families; and reminiscences and articles about early farming, lumbering, circuses, roads, and bridges written or collected by Bridgman. On paper is a genealogy and biographical sketch of Dr. Moses Barrett, a Wautoma, Wis., resident from 1850 to 1859.
