Abstract:

Contract registers containing a record of the towns, theaters, dates, and prices (with occasional played and earned figures) for films exhibited between 1919 and 1941. The contracts generally are recorded by exchange and thus enable easy comparison of films in different sections of the country. Volumes from 1919-1931 are handwritten originals, and include references to theaters closing or changing hands, cancelled showings or reduced rates, and occasional recordings of censored films. Volumes from 1937-1941 are copies of the originals.
