Men of Action, International Truck Action, Hinsdale News,
Milwaukee Works Reporter, West Pullman Works Review, Coal
Mines Benham, International Harvester of Australia, and others. The publications feature the company's agricultural equipment, motor truck, and construction equipment product lines. Titles are arranged
alphabetically by division and plant, or alphabetically by country of publication if published outside the United States. The divisions
represented are Agricultural Equipment Group, Construction, Corporate, Dealer and Distribution (including Regional and Truck division publications),
Farm Equipment Research and Engineering Center, Science and Engineering and Wisconsin Steel. The plants represented are East Moline, Farmall,
Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, Louisville, Melrose Park, Milwaukee, Rock Falls, Springfield, Tractor, and West Pullman Works. In addition there are
miscellaneous company-wide IH publications, and publications from Argentina, Australia, Canada, France, Mexico, New Zealand, the Philippines,
South Africa, and the United Kingdom. Within divisions and countries, the magazines are arranged by date. Included in this accession are many examples of IH's experiment with a “plant” magazine. Postwar company growth, and the growing desire to craft
a unified company-wide corporate identity, made investment in company magazines ever more desirable to International Harvester. These “plant”
magazines, printed between 1946 and early 1949, were produced shortly after the company created a company magazine section in the consumer
relations department. In order to insure standardized quality of editorial content, the “plant” magazines that sprung from this initiative often
contained (nearly) identical covers, photographs, and articles, alongside local content. These magazines are indicated with the word [plant] in
brackets after the titles. Most of the publications here are intended for employees, but some were obviously created and distributed with a more general audience in mind.
