Abstract:
Scattered records of the October League (Marxist-Leninist), a Maoist group which arose in the United States in the early 1970s, mainly documenting activities in the Atlanta and Chicago areas. Among the topics covered by the papers are African-Americans in the ultra-left, child care at league meetings, women, the labor movement, the league’s activities in the southern U.S. (particularly relating to the civil rights movement), documentation on the three congresses of the October League, and information related to other Marxist Leninist organizations.
