Abstract:

Papers of Daniel Boone Schirmer, a founding member of Friends of the Filipino People (FFP), relating to his work with the organization. Founded in 1973, this group of U.S. citizens worked to influence public opinion and to sway the U.S. government to withdraw support for the Marcos regime. Major topics represented in the collection include U.S. military bases in the Philippines, the Philippine anti-nuclear movement, and human rights.
