Abstract:
Records of TecNICA, a now defunct non-profit, non-governmental organization that provided volunteer technical assistance and material aid to the people of Nicaragua and, beginning in 1988, to Southern Africa. TecNICA was organized in 1983, and around 1986 became a project of the Institute for Technology and Development. TecNICA also played a role in public education, influencing public opinion about the countries they served. Miscellaneous files include information about Benjamin Lindner, U.S. citizen and peace worker killed by the Nicaraguan contras.
