Abstract:
Records of Sandley Light Railway Equipment Works, a Janesville (Wisconsin) based company owned by Elmer Sandley and his son Norman which manufactured boilers and small scale trains as well as the records of the Riverside and Great Northern Railway (R. & G. N.) and the Riverside and Great Northern Preservation Society. The R. & G. N. was originally built by Sandley in Riverside Park (Janesville, Wisconsin) in the late 1940s to demonstrate the trains they manufactured for zoos and other companies and was moved to the Wisconsin Dells in the late 1950s. The bulk of the collection relates to the Sandley Light Railway Equipment Works, and documents its operations.
