Abstract:

Records of Texas ACORN, 1975-2000, one of the earliest regional offices of ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now), with branches in Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, and Austin. There are files concerning ACORN’s Political Action Committee; Alliance for Justice; Institute for Social Justice; fundraising activities; grant projects; general organizing; individual community organizations; issues such as utility costs, banks and banking, redlining, generic drugs, health care, and community development and housing; and records of radio station KNON, a project of the Dallas office.
