Abstract:
Primarily case files of individuals receiving old age assistance benefits, with a few that may be for general relief. Old age assistance files are identified by an “O” in the case file number. Most of the files contain only a “family face sheet” including brief information on parents, children, addresses, marital record, employment, benefits, military service, and naturalization. When complete case files are present, they typically include records of case worker home visits, budgets, certificates authorizing relief, tabulations of relief given, census verification of applicant's age, background information, and correspondence concerning case work.
