Abstract:

Records of Lancaster city schools and rural schools consolidated into the Lancaster School District. The records of each predecessor school district vary but generally consist of grade and attendance registers giving the names and ages of students, and sometimes general record books containing minutes of the annual school meetings, financial statements, and teacher contracts, 1867-1962. Some districts records include school census reports and financial volumes. The City of Lancaster records consist of grade books, 1893-1960, and PTA minutes, 1955-1961.
