Abstract:

Records of Rock School, 1903-1956, and minutes of the annual school meetings of District #2, 1879-1944. Rock School records consist of Annual Reports to the State of Wisconsin, 1933, 1938-1947; fragmentary school censuses, primarily from the 1930's; and school registers, spanning 1903-1956, but with significant gaps. The Annual Reports provide enrollment data and often include information on school activities, the school library, teacher experience, and handicapped students. The school census give parents names, addresses, names and ages of children enrolled in the school and the type of school (public or parochial) previously attended. In general, the school registers provide an attendance record, grades, comments detailing work accomplished during the year, the daily program, a record of visitors and sometimes a list of books read by each student. The volume of minutes includes the minutes of all the annual school meetings from 1879 through 1944 and includes treasurer's reports and other financial information.
