Abstract:
Records of a local of the Cigar Makers' International Union of America, founded in Green Bay in 1881, which reached a peak membership of 94 members in 1905. The records include correspondence, 1892-1927, consisting primarily of printed circulars from the CMIU headquarters and locals and other unions providing documentation of strikes and other issues in the labor movement, especially for 1916 to 1919; membership records, 1882-1927; financial records, 1881-1920; and records, 1944-1969, of the cigar manufacturing business of one member, Peter Rutten.
