Abstract:
Recordings of John K. M. McCaffery, a broadcaster and editor, consisting mainly of Books and Voices, a radio series moderated for Westinghouse Broadcasting Co., 1956-1957, and Progress, a series of public service interviews prepared for General Electric, 1961-1962. Prominent interviewees include William Benton, Bruce Catton, Bennett Cerf, Leo Cherne, Raymond Firestone, Sol Hurok, Lester Markel, Grace Metalious, James Michener, Jawaharlal Nehru, J. C. Penney, Basil Rathbone, Ronald Reagan, John F. Royal, Richard S. Salant, Mrs. Lewis Sinclair, and William H. Whyte, Jr. Miscellaneous discs include conversations with William Bendix, Irene Dune, Arlene Francis, Boris Karloff, and Betsy Palmer. Some of the interviews concern Fred Allen, George Bernard Shaw, and Dylan Thomas.
