Abstract:
Negatives and photographs documenting the policies, practices, and procedures of the Dane County Sheriff's Department as well as a sampling of the types of crime, crime victims, and criminal investigations handled by the department. Images show such departmental activities as awards ceremonies, teaching seminars, banquets, community outreach, departmental resources, and departmental administration. The types of crimes and investigations documented include murders, arson, conduct regardless of life, and unexplained or accidental deaths. Also included are images of autopsies and the exhumation of bodies during investigations as well as mug shots of arrested individuals.
