Abstract:
Papers and correspondence of the Port Director of the Green Bay harbor, an employee of the municipal harbor commission which later became a county agency. Records include correspondence with governmental agencies, legislators, interested parties, local industries, and the International Association of Great Lake Ports; materials relating to boating regulations and Coast Guard matters, pilotage, lake levels, traffic and rate matters, and flood control; a plan for the development of the Wisconsin-Fox Rivers and the formation of the International Association of Great Lakes Ports; and the three-volume “Survey and Comprehensive Plan for the Port of Green Bay,” an in-depth study of Green Bay industry, transportation, and commerce in 1931, which also includes information on education, housing, and government in Green Bay and has many photos, maps, and charts.
