Abstract:
The Memorial Library Educational Film Collection is 62 films, dating from 1951 through 1984, with the bulk of the collection coming from the 1970s. A wide breadth of educational topics are found in the collection. Consistent topics include art, mathematics, ecology, evolution, sociology, and zoology. The collection includes two feature films, Truman Capote's The Glass House from 1972 starring Vic Morrow, Alan Alda, and Billy Dee Williams, and Cat in the Cage from 1978 starring Sybil Danning. Also notable, the collection includes Clay, or the Origin of the Species, a 1965 animated short which was nominated for best “Short Subject (Cartoons)” by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 1966. The collection also includes teaching and study guides for six titles.
