Alfred Tamarin Files: United Artists Corporation Records, Series 6D, 1943-1952

Scope and Content Note

The first section is arranged alphabetically by film title. It contains interoffice memos, telegrams and correspondence with publicity agents. The majority of the file is made up of press releases containing human interest stories and news items on the movies, their stars and directors. References to the billing of film credits and news clippings concerning the films are also included.

The second section contains miscellaneous correspondence of Tamarin and the Advertising and Publicity Department with other companies and organizations (e.g., Benedict Bogeaus Productions Inc; Bernie Kamins, Director of Publicity for Charles R. Rogers Talking Pictures Corporation).

Most of the graphic and all of the photographic materials from the series have been separated to the stills collection at the Film Archives: see the Film Archivist for further information. Please note that some of the film titles cited in this series are British titles of British-made films and, if released at all in the United States, may have been released under different titles.
