“Sundown” Production File, Walter Wanger Productions: United Artists Corporation Records, Series 3G, 1941

Scope and Content Note

There are extensive records relating to the on-location shooting of the picture at Acoma, New Mexico; Bronson Canyon, California; and Crater Lake, Oregon, which give a clear picture of the problems and procedures involved in filming at remote locations. The actual shooting of the film is represented by scene-by-scene notes with scene numbers, short resumes of the action, wardrobe changes, essential props, cast and bit players, production notes, shooting schedules, and call sheets. Other facets of the production process are documented by such materials as camera reports, camp records, production notes, vouchers and set cost rundowns. A number of scripts, with various revisions, are also included.
