Abstract:

Notices of interest, distribution agreements, materials on literary and music rights, and correspondence of Eagle-Lion, a distributing corporation established as a subsidiary by Pathé Industries and purchased by United Artists (UA) in 1951. The files date primarily from 1948 to 1950. The file contains several types of records: (1) records of Eagle-Lion Films (predecessor of Eagle-Lion Classics), (2) records of Pathé Industries, the Pathé Film Corporation, and other subsidiaries of Pathé (mainly as information copies), (3) records of Producers Releasing Corporation (PRC), another predecessor Eagle-Lion subsidiary (PRC maintained a similar legal file--see Series 2G), and (4) records of Eagle-Lion Classics before and after UA acquisition.
