Abstract:
Bette Barnes spent 36 years at UW-Madison as a graduate student, lecturer, and advocate for women in academia, from 1947-1991. Barnes was a life member of Sigma Delta Epsilon/Graduate Women in Science (GWiS). She was the chair of the Sexual Harassment Policy Committee in the 1970s and 1980s, and she was an active member of the Committee on Women's Issues in the Medical School. Her papers include her personal research, conference materials, university sexual harassment policy paperwork, and committee notes from 1950-2007.
