Abstract:
This collection contains papers, notebooks, publications, photographs, and a metal plate relating to geology professor Charles Bradley (1911-2002). Born in Madison in 1911, Bradley completed his Bachelor's, M.S. and Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Bradley became the first professor of geology at Montana State College where he worked on avalanches and ground water. Bradley married Nina Leopold, conservationist and daughter of Aldo Leopold, in 1971. After his retirement, Bradley returned to Wisconsin where he was active with the Leopold Memorial Reserve.
