The Kappa Kappa Gamma House Assault Investigation records are primarily composed of reports submitted by field agents of the Pinkerton's National Detective Agency during the investigation of an incident which occurred on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Madison in February of 1911. The investigation followed a break-in at the Kappa Kappa Gamma House in which an intruder assaulted the house chaperone. The Board of Trustees of the University retained investigators from the Pinkertons who followed and interviewed several suspects and kept watch of the Langdon street area at night. The collection is primarily the reports of these men submitted to the Pinkerton office in Chicago, but also contains some memos from campus watchman C.H. Batty to University Business Manager H.C. Bumpus and some letters of concern written by Frank Blodgett to Thomas Brittingham, John Fredrickson and Governor Francis McGovern.
