This collection comprises student papers submitted to professor Philip G. Altbach while he
was teaching at the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Department of Educational Policy
Studies between 1967 and 1975. The collection is entirely typescripts submitted by the
graduate students of Altbach between 1968 and 1972. Paper topics include the changing
relationship of students and student government to university decision making; the reactions
of the State of Wisconsin and the University of Wisconsin to student activism; the expansion
of supportive services; minority student experiences; campus student committees; counseling
and guidance; and other contemporary campus issues. The papers are present in their
entirety, some with appendices and selected primary sources.
