Abstract:

This collection contains personal and business records of the David G. Griswold family from 1846-1929. Personal material includes David Griswold's personal receipts and documents: grocery receipts, club memberships, taxes, car repair bills, photographs, stocks, and insurance contracts. The business material concerns the Journal Printing Company, with which David and his wife Eva were employed. It includes letters from companies seeking new business, brochures, and correspondence between the Journal Printing Company and their architect, Lambert Bassindale, and contracted companies. These documents are from 1921-1922 when the third location for the newspaper company was being prepared.
