Abstract:

Color slides of post World War II Japan. These images captured everyday life in Japan, including urban scenes, landscapes and other representations of Japanese culture. Many of the images were taken at Nikkō Tōshō-gū, a Shinto shrine established in 1617 to enshrine Tokugawa Ieyasu, the first shogun of the Tokugawa shogunate.
