The collection largely consists of miscellaneous subject and
committee files, mainly dating from the 1970s to the 1990s. The various committee files
include minutes and correspondence concerning student teaching and certification; early
childhood, elementary and secondary education; reading education; and the graduate
curriculum, including a proposal for the Master of Science degree in Physical Education. The
department meeting minutes (1965-1993) contain announcements, committee reports, document
staffing, course and curriculum developments, department activities and other matters of
administrative concern. A correspondence file of Donald Neuman, department chair, contains
correspondence, memos, and reports concerning workshops, student teaching and certification,
and department activities.
