Abstract:
Miscellaneous records of the Dept. of Elementary Education and its predecessors mostly dating from the 1950s to the early 1960s. The collection largely consists of committee materials and subject files. These records appear to have been compiled from a variety of sources.

The department meeting minutes (1948-1965) document course and program developments; staffing, budgetary, and space needs; and department activities. The memos and announcements (1951-1963) also contain similar information relating to the curriculum, staff needs, and other department functions. The files also contain information about the "integrated program," which combined the study of theory and practice. Other records in the collection include student teaching materials (1945-1965) consisting of teaching guides, memos, announcements, and discussion summaries about the student teaching program.
