Abstract:
Records from the Affirmative Action Office of Human Resources. The Affirmative Action Office is responsible for coordinating UW-Green Bay’s Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity programs, monitoring university compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and the investigation of discrimination and harassment complaints by students, faculty, and staff. The collection contains documents pertaining to UW-Green Bay's Affirmative Action initiatives. Represented in the collection are records of various committees concerned with Affirmative Action matters and topics. The committees include: Committee on the Status of Minorities (1972-1975), the Equal Opportunity Committee (1974-1977), and the Human Rights Committee. The bulk of the collection consists of annual reports (1973-2016), which contain student and staff profiles and employment data, personnel issues, promotion data, planning and committee reports, and policy statements. Subject files address Women for Equal Opportunity (WEO), Wisconsin Coordinating Council for Women in Higher Education (WCCWHE), federal government Housing, Education, and Welfare (HEW) guidelines. Of particular note are the day care center surveys (1975) regarding childcare initiatives at UWGB. The Program for Females and Minorities as well as the Program for Protected Veterans and Persons with Disabilities (2016-2020) are also reflected in the collection. Document types within the subject files include correspondence, minutes, plans, programs, reports, statistical data, studies, news releases and clippings, as well as related material concerning conferences, festivals, and other activities.
