The music in this collection is a mix of concerts, personal recordings, and recordings of
fiddlers who influenced Finseth. Most of the photographs highlight the musical venues and
performances, while other photographs, personal correspondence, and articles shed light on
Finseth's life, both as a performer and a farmer. The manuscript "War clouds" is a
typescript personal narrative of Finseth's experiences in the Navy during World War II. The
series includes tape notes and indexes describing contents of the audiotape reels largely
written by Robert Andresen.
The paper documents are organized into nine folders and constitute Box 1. Photographs are
contained in Box 3. The recordings are organized by format type; audiotape reels are in Box
2; audiocassettes are in Box 4.
