Biography/History

Robert F. Roeming (1912-2004), professor of French and Italian teaching at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, created a radio course on French Black Literature in Translation in 1977. The course consisted of half-hour lectures in English and full hours of French readings by French African and Caribbean writers. The seventy-two radio programs were broadcast from nine stations on the Wisconsin Education Radio Network.
