Joseph Davis, Sr. Aldermanic Records, 2002-2013

Biography/History

Joseph (Joe) Davis, Sr. graduated in 1979 from Custer High School in Milwaukee and continued to Steamfitters Training School at Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) from 1979-1984. He went on to work as an HVAC technician. In 1999 he completed Michigan State University’s United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters Instructors Training School program. In April 2003, he was elected to fill the remainder of Terrance Herron’s aldermanic term representing Milwaukee’s 2nd district. He was consecutively elected until 2016. In 2016 he did not run again for 2nd district alderman but instead ran, unsuccessfully, for Milwaukee Mayor. After that he worked for the State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation until 2021. In late 2021 he became the Development Director for the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise. Since 2008 he has been a South African Honorary Consul for the State of Wisconsin.
