La Crosse, Wisconsin, Common Council Resolutions and Reports

Historical Note

In late 1932 the Office of the City Clerk began to organize approved Common Council resolutions and reports by file number. These numbers are assigned sequentially. The only indexing of these resolutions is a card file which is arranged by subject (e.g. parks, library, etc.) and which also includes ordinance numbers and referred matters, 1932-present. The resolutions and reports are also mentioned in the Council books or proceedings.

Older resolutions (circa 1856-1932) are processed and arranged by Council committees, such as street lighting, judiciary, parks, public utilities, etc. These are also in the Library’s archival collection of city records. Refer to the holdings guide or the library catalog for a complete list.
