Abstract:
Papers, 1958-1964, of William R. Merriam, a Janesville, Wisconsin farmer and former Republican Assemblyman (1957-1964), primarily consisting of correspondence from constituents, legislators, and political leaders concerning the 1961 and 1963 legislative sessions. Also included is correspondence concerning his membership in the Midwestern Agriculture Committee of the Council of State Governments and two international goodwill tours in which he participated. Primary correspondents include Wayne Hood, Claude Jasper, Warren Knowles, Philip Kuehn, Melvin Laird, Gaylord Nelson, Wilbur Renk, Robert Spitzer, Carl Steiger, and Henry Schadeberg.
