Abstract:
Papers of two playwrights who have collaborated on productions for television, motion pictures, and the stage. Included are multiple drafts of three plays, Make a Million (1958), Send Me No Flowers (1960), and Waltz Me Around Again (1968); a story outline for the film That Funny Feeling (Universal, 1965); sketches performed by Carol Burnett on The Garry Moore Show (CBS); scripts for ten episodes of The Danny Kaye Show (CBS); and biographical notes on Moore.

Biography/History

Norman Barasch, playwright, was born February 18, 1922 in Rockville Centre, New York. During World War II he served as a member of the U.S. Air Force. Barasch is a member of the Dramatists Guild and in 1962 received an Emmy Award for his contribution to the television series The Garry Moore Show. He is married to Gloria Rosenberg; they have two sons and one daughter.

Carroll Moore, playwright, was born Carroll Byron Moore, Jr. on May 4, 1913 in Somerville, Massachusetts. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He is a member of the Dramatists Guild and has written for several television shows including The Henry Morgan Show, The Herb Shriner Show, The Fred Allen Show, The Steve Allen Show, and The Garry Moore Show. He married Catherine George in 1936; they have one daughter.

Norman Barasch and Carroll Moore have collaborated on several theatrical productions, including Make a Million and Send Me No Flowers; the latter was purchased by Universal Studios and developed into a Doris Day-Rock Hudson film. In 1968, their comedy Waltz Me Around Again was produced in summer theaters and had over 300 performances. Their original story outline for That Funny Feeling was purchased by Universal Studios and became a motion picture starring Bobby Darrin and Sandra Dee.

Barasch and Moore also wrote for television series including The Garry Moore Show, The Danny Kaye Show, and Kraft Music Hall.
