Biography/History

The firm of Marts & Lundy, Inc. was founded in 1926 by Arnaud C. Marts and George E. Lundy, and has been a pioneer in applying business methods to fund raising and publicity for philanthropic institutions. During its first three decades, the firm raised approximately one and a half billion dollars for various non-profit institutions, mainly colleges, universities, and churches, By 1964 its success had allowed the staff to expand to over fifty members and to become known for the publication of books and articles on philanthropy and fund raising. Throughout its existence the underlying theme of the firm has been that “Americans should remember that their greatest advance has always been through voluntary endeavors.”
