Scope and Content Note: Files, 1996-2003, on two types of grants awarded by the division: public facility (PF) grants and community-based economic development (CBED) grants. The PF grants, which were awarded 1996-2001 but all closed in 2002, were typically awarded to villages and towns and supported construction of sewer and water facilities. The documentation includes applications, environmental reviews, information on local wages, and records used to monitor performance and expenditures. The CBED grants were awarded to private organizations to support special economic development projects in 2001 and 2003 and all closed in 2004. In addition to applications and monitoring records, several files, such as those about CAP Services (Stevens Point), Wisconsin Women's Business Initiative, and the Wisconsin Innovation Network Foundation, contain substantial background information about the organization.

These funds provide municipalities throughout the state aid for housing rehabilitation and come from repaid CDBG housing rehabs or home purchase loans.
