Abstract:

Summary minutes, reports, copies of correspondence and memoranda, annotated introduced Legislative Reference Bureau (LRB) bill drafts, unintroduced LRB bill drafts, WLCS bill drafts, and supplementary material distributed to the Legislative Council and its committees and subcommittees. Best documented are the Advisory Committee on Compulsory Attendance Laws, the Advisory Committee on Revision of Health and Social Service Laws, the Special Committee on the Wisconsin Guaranteed Higher Education Plan, and the Natural Resources and Judiciary Committees.

Series 1788	Part 1 (Series 1788): Original Collection, 1971-1975 Physical Description: 5.6 cubic feet (14 archives boxes)  Scope and Content Note: The majority of the series consists of copies of original documents, although there are handwritten notes and annotations made by Bonnie Reese, executive director of the Council. For the Council meetings, there is an incomplete run of minutes and files on individual meetings. Many of the committee documents pertain to interim study groups rather than to standing committees of the Council.
