Abstract:

Records, mainly 1861, of Ebenezer Sprague, storekeeper of the Military Store in Madison, which document the receipt and disbursement of supplies. Included is a letter book (was Series 1175, 37/2/19) containing receipts and correspondence relating to the shipment of clothing, blankets, haversacks, and other stores to regimental quartermasters; a journal/daybook (was Series 37/2/15 and Series 1174, 37/2/18) which chronologically shows the kinds and quantity of material received or disbursed and its cost; an inventory (1173, 37/2/17) which indicates the vendor and receiver of each type of article; and a receipt book (was Series 1172, 37/2/16) which indicates the kind and quantity of article issues, the regiment to which it was issued, and the recipient.
