Abstract:

Card index created by the Governor's office for the Gubernatorial records of Governor Walter S. Goodland (Series 2). Governor Goodland's office recorded the names of all correspondents (including people, organizations and places) as well as dates, subjects and the 4 digit code assigned by the office. The index served as the primary access tool for his staff and includes cross references and short content summaries. Researchers should then consult the Series 2 register contents list for the Gubernatorial papers to identify the box number(s) to request. The card index contains some topical headings and an alphabetical list of the major subject files is appended to the Series 2 register.
