The First Methodist Episcopal Church of River Falls was organized in 1857 with the Reverend Miles Lewis as the first class leader. A church building was begun in 1860 but due to the Civil War was not finished until 1865. A parsonage was added in 1866. The congregation erected a new church edifice in 1989 which, with remodeling, still serves the congregation. The congregation has had over thirty ministers in its one hundred year history.

The Records are mainly the business papers and official record books of the church and its various organizations. There is little correspondence. The Trustees' minutes, the church record books, and the Quarterly Conference records show the development of the congregation.
