Abstract:
Fashion prints, 1815-1925, of women's and men's fashions from France, England, America and Germany, primarily high fashion, though later entries move toward mass appeal. The majority of the plates are Parisian. The collection covers a broad range of reproduction techniques from hand-colored copper engraving to half-tone and was originally contained in seventeen cloth-covered scrapbooks, two of which are included in the collection. The collection was assembled by Martha E. Fitch.
