Scope and Content Note

Materials collected by Casimir Krolasik and his wife Marie (nee Pisarzewicz). The collection includes a photograph (1917), 25th anniversary brochure with a history (1932), and newsclippings (1939), of the Polish Young People's Alliance (Towarzystwa Zwiazku Mlodziezy Polskiej), active in Milwaukee from 1907 until its dissolution during World War II. Krolasik participated in the Alliance from 1932 to 1942. Other papers include a 1934 newspaper article picturing Krolasik and Regina Jasinski in dance costumes; a program from the 1975 White House Conference on Domestic and Economic Affairs, held in Milwaukee and attended by Krolasik; a photograph of Krolasik with other members of the Alliance College 37th Pre-Convention Committee (1975); a 1980 issue of Romien, the Polish National Alliance Youth Leaders Magazine; and an undated essay on Mitchell Street in Milwaukee written by Casimir's brother, Roman. During the 1930s, Krolasik performed with two bands, the Kazimierz Krolasik Orchestra, organized in 1933, and its successor, Stanley and the Original Revelers, reorganized by Stanley Nowicki about 1937. Regarding the bands are a 1938 photograph of the Original Revelers, and a 1981 tape recording of Krolasik performing accordion selections in the style of the band. Some of the selections are Krolasik's compositions.
